GENERAL IDEA HERE.... We want to leave these houses as close to the way we found them as possible. This has been a huge witness to the rental company AND to the cleaning people. We want them to see a big difference between our houses and the rest of the "spring break" houses they are having to clean.
LEAVING EARLY ? - If you are leaving before Sat ... you need to do a couple things...fill out this Google form .... get rid of ALL the food that is yours (no...the other people in the house don't want it). Put back anything that you may have used including dirty dishes, etc. Strip the sheets off your bed and pillow cases and put them in the middle of you bed. Help put back furniture, pillows, dishes, etc.
BICYCLES/GOLF CARTS - If your house had bicycles or a golf cart, you need to track them down and make sure they are all back and locked together and Golf Cart is plugged in / charging. Not all houses had bikes or a golf cart. If either are missing ... the house will be charged for them by the rental company.
FURNITURE - Make sure all furniture (indoor and outdoor) is accounted for and put back where it belongs and house is generally straightened up
TRASH - Emtpy trash throughout the house (bathrooms, etc....not just the kitchen), and all trash is bagged up and thrown away in outdoor trashcans.
DISHES / KITCHEN - Run one last load of dishes either when ylou leave in the morning or before you go to bed at night. You can leave them in the dishwasher as long as they are clean. Wash any last few dishes/silverware/glasses with soap, by hand, dry them, and put them away. Do not leave any dishes in the sink or dishwasher.
FOOD - Most leftover food that you aren't taking, you will want to throw away, some you can leave for the cleaning people but it must be unopened containers and not leftover food you cooked. If it was cooked and leftover, just go ahead and throw it away. If it was unopened, you can leave it. If there are small amounts of stuff, throw it away. You can ask yourself....if someone that I didn't know left this....honestly, would I take it and eat/use it ?
SHEETS & TOWELS - Strip all the beds and put all the sheets, pillow cases, and towels (including kitchen towels) on each bed on each floor. Some beds may have a pad under the bottom sheet, leave that there along with comforters. Leave towels in a separate pile.
FLOORS / CARPET - Do a quick sweep of all floors and run the vacuum cleaner over carpeted areas if there is a vacuum cleaner in the house. Sweep outside entryways.
PERSONAL STUFF - Do NOT leave personal stuff behind. Every year we find clothes, laptops, Bibles, sunglasses, shoes, hats, etc that are left behind. If the cleaning crew gets to it before I do, there is a good chance it will be gone for good
HANDSOAPS/EXTRA TOILET PAPER/PAPER TOWELS - Someone needs to go to all the bathrooms and collect the handsoap squirt bottles we left there and leave them on the kitchen counter along with any extra toilet paper and any unused paper towel rolls.
LIGHTS / LOCKS - As you leave, turn off all lights and lock the doors behind you.
LAST PERSON LEAVING - If you are the last person leaving your house...remember.....as you leave....you need to text Todd (above), your name, your house name, and the front door code.
